British punk rock/new wave music group The Stranglers with the song Sweden (all quiet on the Eastern Front), 1978:
”Let me tell you about Sweden
Only country where the clouds are interesting
Big brother says it’s the place to go

Too much time to think, too little to do
Too much time, too little to do
‘Cause it’s all quiet on the Eastern front

IN PRISON
The lyrics were created when band member Hugh Alan Cornwell did his PhD 1975 in biochemistry at Lund university in southern Sweden, before he was charged with possession of illegal drugs and did time at Pentonville prison.

“If a Larsson character wants to show assent, he or she will ‘nod’; if he or she wants to manifest distress, then it will usually be by biting the lower lip. The passionate world of the sagas and the myths is a very long way away”.
